Today marks the first day of summer! The longest day of the year!
The fishing has been a mixed bag. Some of the waters controlled by dams have been good, while some have dropped in flows. Elsewhere in my region the flows continue to rage. As the weather warms up and the vast amounts of snow continue to melt, it may be some time before some of my favorite rivers are safe to fish. I keep my eyes and ears out, in hopes that the runoff subsides soon.
As far as journal entries go, I’m trying to avoid doing entries for the same creek or same spots over and over again. I’m looking to offer some variety, but with the way things are I am having trouble finding new spots, or experiences to share. I’m sure it will all work out in the end and I will be able to post about an outing soon.
I’m still plugging away on rounding up posts for the website, and I’m starting to look at long term content. It will be a little while before I have any big projects ready to go, but you can expect to see more posts on past experiences coming up. I’ve enjoyed sharing little blurbs from the articles I did for TenkaraUSA, and I really enjoy expanding on some of the experiences that really stand out. But I’m also looking for some feedback on what kind of content you would like to see more of! If you would like to leave a comment or suggestion, you can do so through the contact form.
I’m looking forward to getting out more and seeing how much the rivers have changed when they get to a point where they can be fished. It was a long winter, followed by what feels like a long spring. But it was needed.
